2019 Summer Curriculum

"I am convinced that a new kind of Christianity—and a new kind of church as its earthly expression—is emerging in our midst. This new Christianity relies far less on structure and institution; it is a raw spiritual expression of a living, boundless God." -- Cameron Trimble

At Montlure, we are convinced that this "new" kind of church is not emerging, but is already in existence. Camp is a beautiful representation of the Church, through authentic community and faith building, without walls. This year, we embark on a new 3-year initiative where we will be intentionally exploring and participating in Sabbath practices in order to form and develop our Christian identity and formation as disciples of Christ.

In a world where we are constantly connected, we invite campers to unplug this summer and reconnect to each other, to their faith, and to God. Everything we do at camp has a purpose and an intentionality behind it from Hospitality (belonging), Prayer (connecting), Retreat (unplugging), Storytelling, and Service (living sacrifice). Our hope is that campers will experience sabbath in their lives, not just at camp, but as something they embody outside camp, every day.

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." - (Matthew 11:28)
